So, here's what's been up the last couple days... Tuesday, I blogged that my appointment had been cancelled because I called at 9:53 that morning and got a message stating the office was closed due to the weather. For some reason something told me to call the office again that afternoon. I called at 1:45 and after being on hold for a half hour, right when they answered the phone my cell died! So, I called them back and finally got through to ask what's up. They were sorry I got the message and all appointments were on. I freaked! I can't get to Portland in 10 minutes! She was so sweet and said as soon as we get there I'd be able to see a doctor. I lost it. I hung up and started crying and couldn't stop and blah, blah, blah... HORMONES I say! So we got everything packed up and headed in. Just leaving Scappoose there was something in the road. A boxer the color of the snow was tromping through traffic on Hwy 30! So of course we tried to get him. He weaved in and out of traffic for about a mile toward Portland on 30. Traffic was a mess and people were being absolute morons! Finally he was diverted into the parking lot of some apartments, bribed him with treats and the owner, who had been chasing after him this whole time, got him. Holy cow!
And we finally got to my doctor's office. I saw a different doctor, because mine is in Connecticut, and was his last appointment. I could tell he wanted out of there but he was nice and gave me the 411 on any progress. So here it is... I'm still pregnant! LOL Okay, I'm now 1+ centimeters but he wouldn't give me 2 and I'm more effaced than before but didn't say how much. (I like my doctor better) He thinks Libby will be tall because she feels long when he was examining me and will be bigger than Madeline for sure. He told me to hang in there and be patient. Please... The next person who tells me to be patient I'm going to slap! Not really... lol That night was AWFUL! I don't know if it was brought on by the exam, but I got the most horrible stomach ache and was having contractions every 3-5 minutes. About the time I was going to call the advice nurse the contractions let up to about every 10 minutes but the stomach ache went on all night. I wanted to die! I finally got some good sleep between about 6 and 8:30 in the morning but by then it was time to get up and going...
So I'm feeling pretty good today, so far. We have to head into Portland to pick Miss Madeline up at 1 and then off to spend some time with Jeromy's family. Starting tomorrow I'm kickin' this labor process into gear! Any suggestions?! Maybe a good long run in the snow will work! LOL Kidding...
Well, hope everyone has a great Christmas and stay tuned!
