I'm going to cry...

So I've decided doctors are not to be allowed to tell their pregnant patients "It could be any time!" It only gets their hopes up and when you tell them that for 3WEEKS it's ridiculous! Obviously by that statement... I'm still pregnant. I'm going to cry!
My appointment yesterday went like this: No change, hang in there, give it a couple more days... What?! No!!! Don't get me wrong, I love being pregnant, I really do. Except for the last few weeks when you can't sleep, can't eat much, and have little fingers and toes and feet and whatever poking you in all different spots inside your body. And this little bugger is really making it hard on me these last few days. She's taken a liking to my left lower ribs and she's sitting with most of her body on my right side so it's completely lopsided weight! Doc said there's no point in inducing right now because obviously my body is not completely ready to go into labor and it would increase the chance of needing a c-section. He decided if I haven't had her by next Monday's appointment he will induce because there's no reason to go over my original due date, which is next Tuesday.
So for now... Let's all just come to terms with the fact she's not going to be here until next week and then if she comes before that we can all be excited! (yes, I'm pulling you all into thinking this way so I don't feel like the only one going crazy over the wait!)
OH! And I realized I haven't posted pictures of her cute little room! I'm taking pictures today and will post them by tomorrow.

Birthday gift, perhaps?!

It would be the best gift ever for this little munchkin to come today... don't you think?! We'll know soon. We have an appointment today at 1:45. I'm having some crazy contractions, stomach ache, low back pain and still sleepless nights. Jeromy actually got up with me last night for a couple hours. We watched some stupid Adam Sandler movie about Zohan? I went back to bed before it was over. OH! If you haven't watched Chocolate News on comedy central you are missing out! It's freakin' hysterical! I'm not sure when it's actually on, because we were watching it at 2:30 in the morning, but check it out.
So anywho... I will let you all know how the appointment goes. I have my phone list packed and will probably deligate someone to make all the calls to the people listed and hopefully you all can pass on the news to people who may not get a call.
Geez, I'm hoping it happens today!

Crazy Christmas!

I hope everyone had a marvelous Christmas day!
Ours turned into a little craziness, but it was great! Madeline was with her Disneyland dad until 1. The plan was to sleep in and head to Portland to get her stopping by Grandma Tetz's on our way home. Not so much... Jen called us around 9 to let us know grandma had been with no power since about 1 that morning! Of course we said they could head to our place. We left Jen and Bonnie to the cooking while we went in to get Madeline and by the time we got back it turned out that a bunch of the Tetz would be heading our way! We ended up having 15 or so people in our house for Christmas dinner and some serious games of Wii (which Santa brought Madeline) The only store in town open was Lane's Texaco. Jeromy found out that the beer truck couldn't make it out here so a bunch of pickups had to drive into Portland to stock the beer for the store. Only in Columbia County my friends! We did get our beer, though, and we had the perfect ice cooler on our picnic table... The day was great and we got to see family we only see this time of year. Madeline got way more than she needs and I got a pair of waiters to wear when I go duck hunting with Jeromy. Oh how did he know?! I've been dreaming of having my own! LOL
As for Miss Libby... I am so ready to have this little girl enter the world! More for my own comfort than anything else, really... I think I lost my mucous plug night before last, but not sure. (And I'm not explaining what that is on here. Ask a mother for the answer. LOL) Anywho... I am feeling different like it could be soon. I was playing Wii today and some of the games could really get me going! This evening I'm taking up a little baseball, boxing and tennis! Oh and if anyone has any suggestions for getting this going now's the time to speak up! The end of the year is approaching fast and she needs to be here by yesterday! LOL

Merry Christmas!!!

We wish all of you, our friends and family, a wonderful Christmas!
So, here's what's been up the last couple days... Tuesday, I blogged that my appointment had been cancelled because I called at 9:53 that morning and got a message stating the office was closed due to the weather. For some reason something told me to call the office again that afternoon. I called at 1:45 and after being on hold for a half hour, right when they answered the phone my cell died! So, I called them back and finally got through to ask what's up. They were sorry I got the message and all appointments were on. I freaked! I can't get to Portland in 10 minutes! She was so sweet and said as soon as we get there I'd be able to see a doctor. I lost it. I hung up and started crying and couldn't stop and blah, blah, blah... HORMONES I say! So we got everything packed up and headed in. Just leaving Scappoose there was something in the road. A boxer the color of the snow was tromping through traffic on Hwy 30! So of course we tried to get him. He weaved in and out of traffic for about a mile toward Portland on 30. Traffic was a mess and people were being absolute morons! Finally he was diverted into the parking lot of some apartments, bribed him with treats and the owner, who had been chasing after him this whole time, got him. Holy cow!
And we finally got to my doctor's office. I saw a different doctor, because mine is in Connecticut, and was his last appointment. I could tell he wanted out of there but he was nice and gave me the 411 on any progress. So here it is... I'm still pregnant! LOL Okay, I'm now 1+ centimeters but he wouldn't give me 2 and I'm more effaced than before but didn't say how much. (I like my doctor better) He thinks Libby will be tall because she feels long when he was examining me and will be bigger than Madeline for sure. He told me to hang in there and be patient. Please... The next person who tells me to be patient I'm going to slap! Not really... lol That night was AWFUL! I don't know if it was brought on by the exam, but I got the most horrible stomach ache and was having contractions every 3-5 minutes. About the time I was going to call the advice nurse the contractions let up to about every 10 minutes but the stomach ache went on all night. I wanted to die! I finally got some good sleep between about 6 and 8:30 in the morning but by then it was time to get up and going...
We spent most of yesterday with my dad and step-mom and my dad's side of the family. It was nice a relaxing, actually and great to see everyone. My cousin, Jeanna's, daughter Kylee and new baby Jaden were there with my aunt and uncle. Well, not new. He's 7 months, but I hadn't met him yet. How stinkin' cute is he?! I couldn't keep my hands off him!

So I'm feeling pretty good today, so far. We have to head into Portland to pick Miss Madeline up at 1 and then off to spend some time with Jeromy's family. Starting tomorrow I'm kickin' this labor process into gear! Any suggestions?! Maybe a good long run in the snow will work! LOL Kidding...
Well, hope everyone has a great Christmas and stay tuned!

Curse this weather!

My appointment is canceled! What?! Are you kidding?! The news said today was the day to get stuff done because of the break in snow! AAAHHH!!! This is so not cool to me.
My plan is to be able to write a blog simply saying "we're on our way to the hospital" so you all know when it's about to happen. That way if we don't get around to calling everyone, you'll at least know where we are!
Well, I guess I will update you all later.

Time for the snow to stop...

Don't you think? I mean really... doesn't Mother Nature know I'm pregnant and need to get to Portland to deliver this little bundle? The 10 feet of snow will not help in me doing that effectively! LOL
I have my next appointment tomorrow afternoon so we'll see how it goes. We'll take everything with us again, just in case we get to stay. I'm really hoping the weather sparks a sense of urgency when deciding to send me back home! Although, now that we're so close to Christmas day, I'm almost wanting her to hang tight until next week. We'll shoot for my birthday next Monday maybe!
I am getting very restless! My whole plan for this past week was to walk a lot and get tons of things done. Not so much... Our house isn't big enough to do any sort of effective walking. I might try doing a step workout video today! Maybe that will work?!
Well, I'll post tomorrow evening and let everyone know how the appointment went. Hope you're all staying warm and safe off the streets!

Holy snow, Batman!

I really don't remember when we had this much snow. It's amazing! Jeromy went to the funeral for the OSP officer killed last weekend so Madeline and I were home alone all day. We ventured out around lunch time and the truck did great in the packed snow. I was standing in line at the post office when a good contraction came on. I took a deep breath and held my belly when I noticed the concerned look on the face of the lady behind me. It was funny. I'm sure on "Oh shit!" thought went through her mind.
So same ol', same ol' here... I was able to take two short naps today which felt great! And the urge to nest took over like crazy about 6pm tonight. I couldn't stop cleaning! Not that that's a bad thing, right? hahaha
As much as I want this little miss to arrive, I'm thinking she might want to wait until Monday so we don't have to try to make it in to Portland in all this snow. Madelne and I measured a litle over 1 foot at about 7 tonight so who knows how much we'll have by tomorrow!

Officialy 38 weeks

Oh sweet sleep! I actually had a pretty good night as far as sleep went. I got to bed about 11:30 and woke up only a few times to change positions. I was in a lot of pain this morning at 5 when I actually got up though. My whole mid section felt like my muscles were being pulled from me! Weird! I got up and massaged my belly for about 20 minutes and all is good.
So last night I had a good half hour of strong contractions. I started getting excited! They faded to the normal 10 minutes and easy by the time I went to bed. Bummer!! Oh well, I know all these things are signs she's going to be here sooner than we know it. I'm still trying to come to terms with the fact I really have no control over when she gets here...
Write more tomorrow!!

I'm dreaming of a white Christmas... and a baby!

Hey all... Still hangin' in there! I've resorted to attempting to sleep on the couch because I just can't get comfy at night! At one point I was sitting straight up because it was the only position that took the pressure off my back! Oh poor me... Do you feel sorry for me yet? hahaha...
The wacky weather isn't helping my need to get out either! Don't get me wrong, it's beautiful, but I need to get out and walk around and that's hard to do with 4-5 inches of snow and my husband not wanting me to drive anywhere. So as for now, I'm doing deep cleaning around the house hoping that will work with the progress of my labor and Jeromy has completely torn up our bedroom to build that closet I wrote about in an earlier post. It's actually coming along! There's a constant cloud of dust, or mess but it'll be fabulous when done!
For now... Hope everyone is staying warm and safe!

I'm still prego...

Well, the appointment went well in that she's still in there sounding great and everything looks good. She's dropped really low and my doctor was even surprised I wasn't farther along. He said one good punch or kick by her and who knows! I tried to convince him to meet me at the hospital but he said to wait patiently. I'm still at 1 and 60% and Libby is set up and ready to go. He did pause when he realized we live in St. Helens and the weather could affect our commute in, but still told me to go home. He leaves on Saturday for Connecticut until the 24th! So, she either comes in the next two days or after Christmas. Which then my family will be in LA until the 29th! Oh heavens!!! I did a lot of walking today at Wal-Mart and Fred Meyer just killing time and trying to help this process. We'll see if it works...
Last night was awful for sleep. I couldn't get comfy and I'm still having consistent contractions. My back ached constantly so when Jeromy got home around 6 I had him rub me down. It helped a lot and I was able to sleep until 8. Madeline had a late start this morning, thank goodness! I needed that 2 hours of steady sleep.
Well, that's about it for now. We'll see what happens during this crazy weather and I'll be sure to keep everyone posted!
Love you all!!!

Any day now!

Oh baby! I've been saying that a lot lately wanting her to give a good push down and get this show on the road!
So... Due to some complaining from a few of you; and you know who you are (Sargent's) I'll be keeping you all posted day by day until Miss Libby gets here. I'm hoping that will be today and tomorrow! I have an appointment this afternoon and I'm really hoping he's going to tell us to head over the Emanuel! With as many contractions as I've been having over the last few days I'm thinking I've had to have progressed since last Monday. They've been about every 10 minutes since Friday afternoon. I don't mind pain as long as it's productive. Although, they haven't been that painful so I can't complain yet.
What's been going on? Hhhmmm... Well, just all of us being really busy! I worked up to this last Friday and would be working this week if my boss and Jeromy hadn't decided, for me, to take this week off. My dance team had a competition last weekend and took 3rd in jazz! I am so proud of them! Now that that's over, I'll be taking a break from them too. Thank goodness I have a couple great gals to take over for a bit.
Jeromy's been pretty busy with work and has decided to start home improvment projects at the same time! WooHoo! Our bedroom is a disaster due to us expanding the closet. Why now? I have no idea! LOL Oh well. Looks like he's pretty motivated to get it done soon ( unlike the living room wall that's been under construction for almost... 3 years) Oh how I love my husband!
Well, we're ready for Libby to arrive. Bags are packed, seat in the truck... Her room is all done and I'm pretty sure we have everything we need; for now anyway. Honestly, I'm feeling really good still. Just minor aches and pains, super swollen feet, no sleep, and just ready to get my body back. I'm so ready for her to be here! We all are! I've posted a few pictures to let you in on our lives over the last month or so. Enjoy!! I've updated Madeline's blog too so check out what she's been up to!

36 1/2 weeks!

Holy cow! I didn't realize how long it's been since I've updated this blog! I'm going to give you all a couple recent details and then blog in more detail this weekend.
Latest news.... 1 centimeter and 60 % effaced!!! WooHoo! I had an appointment Monday and my doctor is pretty confident this little lady is coming early.

Here is our family belly shot for now but I'll put more stuff up in a couple days.

30 1/2 weeks!!

Can you believe it?! We're so close to welcoming Miss Libby Ann Hasenkamp to our world. The last 6 weeks have been craziness in our house! For the last 4 I've been dealing with a cold that I swear will never go away. I can't take anything, well good anyway, for it either. It started in my throat, went to my head, and has taken up residence in my chest. I have the most awful cough that attacks at the greatest moments. And my nose won't stop running! Oh, the joys of dealing with illness and being preggo... Other than the cold I still am feeling great! I had a little scare last week though... Thursday I started having contractions at about 11am. I didn't think much of it until I realized they were about every 10 minutes. I couldn't leave school so I toughed it out until I got home. I went straight to bed to try and get them to stop. They lasted until about 5:30 and then gradually tapered off to 2 an hour by 8pm. I haven't had any issues since, but I got a stern scolding from Jeromy about pushing myself too much and I agreed that I deserved it...
Libby has taken up gymnastics as a way to pass the time. She enjoys practicing, especially during the hours of 9pm and 4am. If she's actually sleeping during those times and her daddy comes home from work, she feels the need to wake on up and show off her skills forcing mommy to stay awake when absolutely exhausted! LOL We tried, last night at about 2:30am, having Jeromy talk to her and tell her to go to sleep and he'll come to bed in a few minutes. She actually stopped for about 10 minutes before giving up on him and bouncing around until about 4. I was pooped all day. As much as she's depriving me of sleep, I'm so excited for her arrival and love her so much already. We have two couple friends of ours due within the next few weeks, also having girls! Justin and Beth are due next week and Luke and Renee in 2. I'm so anxious for all these little girls to get here!
Renee and I threw a surprise daddy shower for Jeromy and Luke last Saturday at Buffalo Wild Wings. It turned out great! We invited a few of their guy friends to show up and just have a good time. They brought very thoughtful gifts and a lot of laughs. Our boys needed a break, a good time, and a reminder that we love them and they will have no guy time again for a while! LOL

Renee threw a baby shower for me on Sunday that was very nice. It was so wonderful to see some of my friends when all our lives have been so busy and filled with... well, life!

School has been going great and just flying by. I organized a "pumpkin patch" in our soccer field for the 2nd-6th graders that turned out great! Kruger's Farm, on Sauvie Island, gave us a deal on 135 5-8 pound pumpkins. Jeromy, Uncle Dave, Madeline and I picked them all out, weighed them and drove them back to the school. The kids had a blast and it was nice to bring the pumpkin patch to them.
Let's see... Anything else? Nothin' too exciting going on. My next appointment is on the 11th and then I go to every two weeks. I'm going to beg Dr. Prescot to let me have another ultrasound so we can see her again. I'll keep you all posted!

24 weeks!

I am almost 6 months along! Can you believe how fast it's been going?! I think it helps that I'm so busy, I lose track of time. School started last week so I'm at school from 7am-3:30pm. Well, more like 4pm... The day flies by! I'm the teacher's aid for kindergarten all morning, have lunch with Madeline and then have a 5th grade math group and a 6th grade reading group. I'm still coaching dance team two days a week, Madeline has soccer two days a week and she starts ballet one day a week next week. I'm still going to drills for fire department but will be stopping that soon. Not that I need to, but the guys I work with are way too protective! LOL They don't want me to over do it. Oh, how sweet. I'm mainly taking my break now so they stop being so concerned at drills! I'll head back in February.
I still feel fabulous! I've been having a lot of Braxton Hicks contractions lately that stop me in my tracks. They happen the most at the end of the day when I'm exhausted. Miss Libby is so active now! Well, she probably always has been but now that she's a few ounces over a pound I can really feel her movements. My next appointment is on the 23rd when they take a glucose test. Oh joy! I have to drink a highly sugar filled suryp type substance to see if my body tolerates it. It's gross! I don't get an ultra sound for another few weeks. I wish I could see her at every appointment!
Well, here's my belly pic for this week. I've put on 12 pounds... 6 in my butt, 1 in each boob and 4 in my belly! LOL I saw a shirt that said "My rear end is to counter balance my belly." I thought it was perfect for how I'm feeling about my weight! Anywho... Enjoy and I'll keep you all posted in another 4 weeks unless something happens that I must tell you all!

Baby Kamp is a...

GIRL!! That's right... Jeromy is going to be the daddy of another girl. Maybe he's destine to be surrounded by women! Did he do something in a past life or maybe this one that he needs payback for? Hhhmmm... Anywho... Her name is Libby. We haven't thought of a middle name yet. We both liked Libby right away and haven't heard it in forever! The ultrasound lady had a hard time getting a good picture of her because she's sitting so high and after the first few minutes of poking and prodding she turned her back toward her and was facing my back. Every time she tried to get a face shot, she'd cover her face with both her hands! It was so cool to watch her wiggle around in there! I've been feeling her move so much the last few days and there have been a couple times Jeromy has actually seen my belly move. Craziness!

So I'm 20 weeks along... Half way there! My doctor says everything looks fabulous! According to the book we're reading she should be about 9 ounces... Oh no... she's already 11 ounces! We were teasing that Libby will probably pass Madeline up by age 3! Oh my little peanut... She Is so excited for a sister. She's been telling everyone she wants a little brother but as soon as she heard it was a girl she says, "Oh, my wish came true!" We all laughed as she told us she made a wish at bed time, while at grandma's this week, and it has come true. Here is her sympathy belly shot. Hahaha what a cutie patutie!

16 1/2 weeks

Oh and the baby bump appears! Yeah, I know it's not much, but for me it's a lot! I've only gained 8 pounds and I'll be 4 months on Sunday. Doing just as good as with Madeline so far! Who, by the way, took these pictures for me and wanted a "hot momma" pose! What a character!
So our next appointment is on Tuesday the 29th and we thought we were going to get to see baby kamp again and get told the sex. But... I called today to check that Madeline will be able to hear or see something when she comes and was told no ultra sound until our August appointment at 20 weeks. Gggrrr! There were tons of pics from last time put in my file. I'm going to ask Dr.
Prescott if he can take a look at the butt shot she got and see what he thinks. We're so anxious to find out!!! Everyone who's looked at the last pictures seems to think it's a boy but I don't want to get my hopes up.
Oh! Notice the hair in this picture?!? I chopped off 12 inches and donated it to Locks of Love. You can't tell from this look, but it's a cute bob right at my chin that is very classic. I'm really starting to love it now that I'm getting used to it.
So for now... I'll let you know what happens at our next appointment and probably post every other week of belly pics. You really don't need to see me every week! LOL :-)

13 weeks

We had an appointment last Tuesday to do some sort of test that looks for abnormalities. From the ultrasound, Dr. Prescott said everything looks great! Baby was sitting perfect to get some amazing pictures! The lady doing the ultrasound was pretty confident she could tell the sex already! She got a perfect picture of baby kamp's bottom and little legs stickin' straight up! Jeromy missed this appointment because he was fishing... no guilt, honey... so I told her to wait until the next visit to give us her unofficial guess. Madeline will be going next time too and she is so excited to see her little sibling.
We haven't started taking belly pictures yet because I'm still not showing except after I eat! And let me tell ya... I can't eat very much at a time because I run out of room for it to go, but when I do eat a lot I get huge! lol We'll start belly pics at probably 16 weeks. I can feel my body just wanting to balloon out and get cozy with the baby belly. Here are a couple more ultrasound pics. The one is it's leg and foot with all the little toes!

We're having a baby!

That's right folks, Jeromy is going to be a daddy! We're so very excited. I am 12 weeks along and I feel great! Symptoms I got with Madeline (and never went away) like headaches and insomnia are things of the past. I'm sleeping like a rock and I haven't had a headache in weeks! Our due date is January 4th 2009 but I'm thinkin' I could convince my doctor to push it up a week. Tax write off? hahaha... We had our first doctor's visit May 27th and got to see the little kidney bean, the heart beat and even take home a picture. Yes, we will be finding out if it's a boy or girl. Any guesses on what Jeromy would like? I think a little more boy in this house would be good... It would balance things out wouldn't you say? I'm sure many of you are wondering why we waited so long to tell anyone and there were a couple reasons. We wanted to wait until we were out of the "danger zone" (first trimester) and with all the excitement with the wedding that's where we wanted to focus. Which, by the way, was FABULOUS! The whole day played out like a dream and it was just wonderful and perfect... So we will be keeping you all posted along the way. Out next doctors visit is July 1st when we will get more pictures that will look more like a child and less like a blob. I'll be sure to send emails when the blog is updated! We love you all and are very excited to share this joy with each of you!
